Recycling
Be green all year. Did you know that $0.50 of the refuse utility fee that each household pays is appropriated for Baldwin City's recycling program?
Recycling dumpsters located at the Midland Railway Depot are available for citizens to recycle newspapers, aluminum and tin cans, glass bottles, and plastics. From there, Ottawa Sanitation will remove the recyclables on an as-needed basis. The aluminum cans and tin recyclables are left for the Santa Fe Trail Historical Society. The Baldwin City Boy Scouts also have a recycling program. You can donate your aluminum cans to their program by dropping them off at the cage located on the west side of the Post Office downtown.
