BCPD to Resume In-Person Services with Limitations

PD badge

As we move into Phase 1.5 of reopening Kansas, the Baldwin City Police Department will be reopening the lobby on Monday, May 18th.

VIN inspections and fingerprinting services will resume.

Some important restrictions to be aware of:

  • Only one person or family in the lobby at a time.
  • Be respectful of others time and space.
  • Be prepared to answer a few health-related questions.
  • Come with documents in order.
  • Remember we are a satellite office for VIN inspections and fingerprinting services and have limited capacity.
  • VIN inspections can also be completed virtually through the Kansas Highway Patrol.
  • Call ahead to be sure there will be staffing available to handle your request and to ensure you have the correct documentation: 785-594-3850.
  • REMINDER - VIN inspections are not required until 60 days after any State of Emergency declaration ends. As of today, May 15th, we are still under a Declared State of Emergency.

Thank you for being patient with us throughout this time. We will do our best to help you
