Volunteering to Keep You Safe

The Baldwin City Fire Department was chartered on February 4, 1910 as a volunteer fire department and has been active and serving the community ever since.

Baldwin City Volunteer Fire Department in cooperation with the Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office is proud to offer Free Smoke Alarms to area residents.

INSTALLATION

We require a member of the fire department install the alarm. These alarms are available to private residences that do not currently have working smoke alarms.

REQUEST

You may request an alarm by calling the fire department at 785-594-3678 and leaving a message with your contact information. We will get back with you as soon as possible to schedule an installation time.

MAINTENANCE

Please note that smoke alarms should be tested monthly and replaced after 10 years. Statistically most fire related injuries occur in homes without a working smoke alarm.
